In this vlog, I take you on a solo journey to Saptasajya, a mystical hill range located about 60 km from Bhubaneswar and just 12 km from Dhenkanal, Odisha. Known for its lush greenery and the sacred Ram Mandir, this place is a must-visit for nature lovers—but as I found out, the deeper you go, the more mysterious it gets.

🛵 The Journey Begins

The adventure started with an uphill bike ride through winding roads, leading to the foot of the temple stairs. The climb is physical, but the reward is instant: the mesmerizing sound of a mountain stream flowing near the temple. The atmosphere at the Ram Mandir is incredibly soul-soothing, filled with the scent of forest air and ancient stone.

🌲 Lost in the Deep Forest

After paying my respects at the temple, I decided to leave the path behind. I ventured deep into the dense Saptasajya forest, seeking total silence. Being alone in those woods is a powerful experience, but it’s also easy to lose your way. At one point, the trails vanished, and I nearly got lost among the towering trees and abandoned houses that look like they haven’t seen a soul in decades.

💀 The Legend of the "Baba"

The highlight of the trip was a chilling conversation with a local resident. They shared a dark piece of local history about a "Baba" who once lived in these hills. Far from being a holy man, he reportedly cheated local women of their gold jewelry through deception. The story takes a grim turn when the locals finally took matters into their own hands.
