Today feels like a whole mood. I looked out my door and the view was giving pretty with a touch of peace — not too cloudy, just enough light to remind you that every season has its own beauty. Winter’s still hanging on, but you can feel spring trying to peek through. That’s the thing about seasons — they shift, they surprise you, and they always bring something new.

I’m in the kitchen right now, cooking up some pork steaks (yes, they’re baking in the oven as we speak), and I’m about to run to Walmart for some potatoes because what’s dinner without a little starch love? I didn’t get to post yesterday — had some things to handle — but today I’m back, and I want to go live for a bit. Just a quick check-in, nothing too long.

And here’s the exciting part: we are about to have our first-ever Mardi Gras parade, thanks to our newly elected mayor — the first African American mayor in our city’s history. That’s Black History in motion, baby. After decades of the same leadership, we’re finally seeing change, and it’s a blessing to witness it.
