Welcome to Day 2 of the 18th Annual AGI Conference taking place at Reykjavík University, Iceland.
Experience keynotes from leading academics, researchers, and practitioners, and explore pioneering research on the path to AGI, covering AGI frameworks, design choices of cognitive architectures, and perception, relation learning, and reasoning systems.
The second day of the Conference features three of the most influential AI industry voices today:
10:50 AM UTC - Ben Goertzel (CEO, SingularityNET & ASI Alliance): “Weakness Is All You Need (Plus All That Other Stuff).”
"I will outline a generalization of Bennett's theory of weakness from sets to quantales, and explain how this gives a unifying generalized-Occam heuristic guiding the application of a diversity of AI algorithms and processes, including the key reasoning, learning and motivation ingredients of the PRIMUS AGI architecture being developed within the Hyperon framework."
1:55 PM UTC - Henry Minsky (CTO, Leela AI): “Implementing AGI Is Not Child’s Play — But It Should Be! A Path to Implementing 'Scientist AI’.
'"Today’s AI systems rely on billions of examples yet still struggle with common sense and causal reasoning. Human babies, by contrast, learn from a small number of experiences, often self-generated, and can fluidly invent progressively higher-level abstractions of actions and states. Yann LeCun has argued that AI must learn its own action hierarchies—just as CNNs learned visual features—without hand-crafted vocabularies. Yoshua Bengio has recently called for “Scientist AI”: systems that learn by observing, experimenting upon, and modeling the world. Leela is a prototype of this vision, learning through observation, imitation, and curiosity-driven active play to build its own world state models and action vocabulary.
Leela offers a concrete answer to a core autonomous machine learning question: “Who gives the reward, and for what?” It generates its own rewards for discovering useful new world states and actions in pursuit of increasingly abstract goals. Crucially, knowledge is stored as an efficiently indexable graph of causal predictions, allowing Leela to evaluate plans against its entire knowledge base in parallel—spotting rare or unintended yet crucial interactions that generative systems often miss by relying too heavily on the 'common case' and tripping over the 'long tail' of possible real world states. The result is a system that moves us towards robust explainable reasoning, grounded hierarchical planning, and self-directed discovery."
3:10 PM UTC - Kristinn R. Thórisson (Professor of Computer Science, Reykjavik University): “General Intelligence: Ingredients, Methods & Progress.”

SingularityNET was founded by Dr. Ben Goertzel with the mission of creating a decentralized, democratic, inclusive, and beneficial Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). An AGI is not dependent on any central entity, is open to anyone, and is not restricted to the narrow goals of a single corporation or even a single country.
The SingularityNET team includes seasoned engineers, scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs, and marketers. Our core platform and AI teams are further complemented by specialized teams devoted to application areas such as finance, robotics, biomedical AI, media, arts, and entertainment.
