We often hear people say things like "it's just my opinion, so don't attack me" or "it's all subjective" in relation to their reviews of art, be it literature, film, or music. However, I think this is wrong. Art is a craft like any other, and we look to reviewers to get an understanding of whether the art is well crafted, not a subjective statement of their personal taste/preference.
