Causes of Irregular Periods:

1. Hormonal Imbalance:
Life cycle changes that influence the hormonal balance include puberty, menopause, pregnancy, and childbirth, and breastfeeding.
During puberty, the body undergoes major changes. It can take several years for the estrogen and progesterone to reach a balance, and irregular periods are common at this time.



2. Negative Impacts:
Periods also come late because we do regular smoking and drinking. Negative things are a big reason for late periods.


3. Vaginal Issues:
Periods come late even if there is any kind of infection in the vagina.

4. Pcos and PCOD:
Periods also come late due to PCOs and PCOD. All women have two ovaries that release an egg alternately every month. The ovaries produce androgens or male hormones in minute quantities. PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease) is a condition where the ovaries release a lot of immature or partially-mature eggs which eventually turn into cysts. Some of the common symptoms are abdominal weight gain, irregular periods, male pattern hair loss and infertility. In this condition, the ovaries usually become enlarged and secrete large amounts of androgens that can cause havoc with a woman’s fertility and her body. The best treatment for PCOD often looks at reducing the severity of such symptoms.
