SLEDGE HOCKEY DRILLS AND SKILLS | FOOT PROTECTION

Описание: At a house league level many players can get away with playing with running shoes, but once you get to the national level you’re going to be required to wear stronger foot protection.

If you’re anything like me, you’d rather not have your foot broken, by a puck or by a collision with a sled.

The simple answer is to wear skate boots. I took my old skates from playing as a teenager and removed the blades. If you don’t have a pair yet, save your money and go buy a used pair and remove the blades yourself.

If you do it yourself like I did, be careful to not wreck the sole of the skate boot. I did, and I’ve had to use a ton of hockey tape to keep them together ever since.

It looks funny, but I think it adds character!

Consider adding some rubber grip on the bottom because trying to stand on plastic soles is really slippery.

Wearing skate boots will help save your ankles, I promise. I would have had mine bruised or broken many times had I not worn proper foot protection!
