Chevrolet is all set to launch its SUV Trailblazer, the Fortuner contender in India. Watch our first drive review.

Exteriors:
Trailblazer looks tall and a rugged SUV. It's heavy in terms of design from the front, it has large air dam housing the company’s badge. The bumper fitted with a pair of fog lamps. This SUV looks tall, but it is 2mm shorter in height than Toyota Fortuner, however, Trailblazer is 83 mm longer than Fortuner. It is well crafted with headlamps cluster along with the LED DRL’s. Coming to the side profile, it does not make any good impression. Moving to the rear, its tail lamp and windshield move well into the body. It's has a good ground clearance of 241 mm which is 20mm greater than Fortuner.

Engine and Performance:
Trailblazer is offered with 2.8-litre 4-cylinder SUV which is available only in diesel motor that generates 200 horsepower with a peak torque of 500 Nm. On the broken roads, this Trailblazer is quite eased. It has an advantage of 18-inch tyres with a massive ground clearance. It can take a lot of bad roads with comfort, but rear seat passengers may feel a bit uneasiness while passing on the broken roads. Talking about the steering wheel, it's quite heavy so while turning cuts n corner, it will not be as easier. Both the front seats are electrically adjustable. There is a fair amount of body roll for the second and third-row passengers, however, the third row might feel discomfort while taking sharp corners. The cabin insulation is decent, it is not loud as Ford Endeavour or it is not as quiet as Fortuner, Trailblazer stands in the middle of it.

Interiors:
Coming to the interiors, the dashboard is neatly laid out. It is designed in black and beige color scheme and incorporated with a number of sophisticated features. There is 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit which comes with Bluetooth, AUX and many more features. The infotainment system also works for the reverse camera. But the brightness of the infotainment system cannot be adjusted which is a huge problem in it. There are a lot of storage places for bottles, cups etc. It comes with more features like cruise control, tropicalized automatic climate control AC system, front and rear glass defogger, automatic door lock and 4 sockets of 12 volts. Coming to the safety of Trailblazer, it has a lot of safety features like ABS with EBD, traction control, dual airbags, hill start assist, electronic stability control, panic brake assist and cornering brake assist. There is a decent rear space for a passenger with good thigh support. The rear AC vents are also there for the second and third-row occupants.

Verdict:
Trailblazer’s feature list and its stunning looks make it one of the best SUVs in its segment. This vehicle will compete against the likes of Mahindra XUV 500, Isuzu MU 7, Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton and others in this segment. The vehicle will be launching in October and the pricing too.
