Pyongyang has addressed the Biden administration for the first time since last year's presidential election. The influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un warned the US over its joint military exercises with South Korea. Kim Yo Jong issued a statement saying the new US administration should "refrain from causing a stink if it wants to sleep in peace for the coming four years".
After visiting Japan, top US officials are due to arrive Seoul on Wednesday.
