As NATO continues to carry out air strikes on Yugoslav military sites, Serb troops patrol the border between Kosovo and Macedonia.
Amongst the thousands of NATO troops stationed in Macedonia there are a number of German Leopard tanks, the first armed action undertaken by Germany since 1945.
The NATO troops and armour were originally deployed on the border to police a peace agreement between Kosovars and the Serbs.
Serbian troops continue to display their presence in Kosovo, as NATO continues to launch air offensives against Serbian military targets.
Travelling by truck, the troops are heavily armed with high calibre automatic weapons.
Despite "Operation Allied Force" relentlessly pounding their positions, Serbian troops continue to dig in.
As Serb troops patrol along the border with Macedonia, German soldiers and military hardware are also taking up positions on the Macedonian border in Tetovo.
They are among the first German soldiers to see international service since World War Two.
German A-P-C's took up positions at a road block and were also joined by Macedonian special police.
In Blace too the NATO military presence is also being bolstered.
Italian troops patrol roads and surrounding countryside.
While Macedonian special police units man roadblocks.
Observation posts, once manned by NATO troops, also remain on alert.
The hills of Kosovo within sight.
With "Operation Allied Force" now entering its fourth day, a quick fix seems even more remote.
