Jean Chatillon (1937-09-13 - 2019-01-16) est un pédagogue et compositeur québécois.

Né dans une famille de musiciens, à Nicolet, au Québec, il commence à jouer du piano et à composer en 1951. D'abord autodidacte, il fait ensuite de solides études musicales avec le maître Conrad Letendre à Montréal.

En 1969, Jean Chatillon fonde la Section de musique de l'Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières et y enseigne jusqu'en 1981. En 1970, il est membre fondateur de l'Institut de sciences musicales Conrad Letendre, avec Michel Pérrault

In the "Grands Concerts" series, Sébastien Deshaies and Marco Vinicius perform the "Valse pour l'échappée belle", composed by Jean Chatillon, at the end of April 2000. The piece was used as the musical theme for the radio program of the same name, hosted by Ms. Carole Trahan, and presented on Radio-Canada's cultural channel.

Jean Chatillon (1937-09-13 - 2019-01-16) was a Canadian composer and music educator.

Chatillon was born into a family of musicians, in 1937, in Nicolet, Quebec. In 1951 he began to play piano and to compose. At first self-taught, then he undertook serious musical studies with the master Conrad Letendre in Montreal.

In 1969, Jean Chatillon founded the Music Section of the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières and taught there until 1981. In 1970 he was a founding member of the "Institut de sciences musicales Conrad Letendre", along with Michel Perrault.
