Описание:
Professor, author, and music critic Josh Kun is looking at music as a form of social action, particularly for the world's 213 million migrants alienated by militarized borders. To him, the U.S.-Mexico border is not just a fence or a line on a map, but a sonic structure flooded with messages in music. From sound artists who release the border fences' acoustic properties to music artists writing songs about migrating to a better world, Kun seeks to explain how music and borders are an opportunity for transnational messaging.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.*
