1. Sunil was excited to go to school but he decided to sacrifice his education for the sake of bringing up his younger brother and sister. He was eleven years old and lost his parents and the rest of his elder brothers and sisters too. He had to take up the responsibility of taking care of his younger sibling’s education and upbringing. So he could not afford to spend the compensation money on his own education.

2. it was rather an insult to the lost lives on the part of the government to provide only 10,000 as compensation for the tragedy. Later Sunil recieved 70000. It is due to the corrupted officials in the government system that these kind of of tragedy is not seriously dealt with. The tragedy that took place in Bhopal and caused the loss of many lives was not something that could be overlooked. Broken families, death, loss of homes and unforeseen damages caused by the carelessness of factories should not be treated lightly by the government.

3. Yes, besides being just eleven years, he didnot lose hope and fought for his rights. He also took up the responsibility of parenting his younger siblings and his brother was only an infant. He was snathched off his childhood and had to grow to maturity all of a sudden by one terrible stroke of fate. He was betrayed by his friends and did not know whom to trust. He became a drunkard and a mental patient. He was depressed but the rthought of his younger sister nad brother always calmed him and gave him a reason to live though he was tormented with thought of committing suicide many a times.

4. there was a communal riot between the Hindus and the Muslims. The Hindus wanted to get rid of the muslims. They tried to brainwash Sunil with the thought that the Muslims were minority and didnot belong there. They took him to the community and encouraged him to drink and spend his compensation money. Sunil realised that the propaganda of the Hindu organisation was wrong.

               Yes, the kind gestures of Mohammad also had a deep impact in the mind of Sunil. It made Sunil believe that though people called God by different names,He is one.

5. the most admirable quality about Sunil is his love. He had great affection for his sister and brother. he sacrificed his education to bring them up. He is always careful not to spend the compensation money for any other reason than to use it for the welfare of his younger ones. His courage is commendable in the way he didnot listen to the suicidal voices inside his head for the sake of his brother and sister. He loved all religion alike, hindu or muslim. He was a simple man who matured at a very early age of eleven and made his life choices wisely.

6. Sunil had faced his loneliness and depressed moments in taking up the responsibility of bringing up his infant brother and his younger sister after the Bhopal gas tragedy. It drove him mad in the end of his life. He was betrayed by the government and even his friends. When he lost all hope and wanted to give in to his suicidal thoughts the faces of his younger brother and sister gave solace to his heart and kept him fighting in life.

7. Sunil suffered from depression when he became an adult as a result of his ugly childhood. He hardly knew what a chilhood innocent life is like. He had to deal with adult matters of life ever since he was eleven. People insulted him, looked down on him, cheated him and drove him away. He had to carry the burden of solving gigantic problems in life and also had to parent his younger siblings. There were some kind souls who helped him in life but many others were trouble to him. Facing all these situations in life as child disturbed his mental condition as he grew older.
