The founder of Nendo was always passionate about reading manga, an artistic expression composed of a series of lines levelled by flatness and abstraction and deeply rooted in Japanese culture.
When he was younger, his parents disapproved of his preference as they believed that visiting museums or galleries would be more beneficial. However, the idea of combining both art forms always lingered in Sato’s thoughts - and that's exactly how 50 Manga Chairs was born.
