Описание: Eldridge Johnson purchased the remnants of the zonophone company in 1904. the gramophone and typewriter company had purchased a good deal of the classical, operatic and what popular it liked. Johnson bought rights to the company and it was eventually based in Newark New Jersey and all of its recordings would be pressed by the Duranoid Company right down the street from Zonophone. Victor had many of it's own records pressed by Duranoid. Every time they pressed a record a "D" was pressed into the wax. Johnson figured that this label would be a low cost label in competition with the Victor Talking Machine Company and manufacturing machines and Records. But the company would be under the control of Mr. Royal, who was a good friend of Johnson's. It is obvious that much of the Victor system was used for Zonophone. But for the period of 1904 to 1911 the Zonophone Record brought great entertainment to many homes in the United States.
