Parents — this is the side of ADHD meds you probably never heard in the pediatrician’s office.
📊 The MTA Study — the largest ADHD trial ever, funded by the National Institute of Mental Health — followed kids for 14 years. Here’s what they found:
▪️ Kids who stayed on ADHD meds long-term were 3 cm shorter (about an inch).
▪️ Their behavioral outcomes were worse after 8 and 14 years than those who didn’t stay medicated.
Now — I don’t mean to throw shade at my short kings (and queens).
Height-shaming and body-shaming are wrong.
But let’s be honest — the world treats height like social currency.
It affects confidence, dating, and even how others perceive you.
Parents deserve to know that choices around long-term medication can have ripple effects — not just on attention, but on development, behavior, and self-image.
This isn’t fear.
It’s informed consent.
Because the goal isn’t just short-term focus — it’s helping kids grow into confident, healthy adults.
