I remember when I went to college…I thought “oh this is great, they’ll give me a loan to complete school.” Don’t get me wrong, it can be great IF you can make something of yourself and pay it back. Most people can’t/don’t, though.
Luckily…we paid off our debts years ago. But I can remember how the “fear” impaired my decision making back then.
I talk to business owners every day (a lot of orthos and dentists) who are buried in debt, were never educated in business, and they are facing burn out/closing down/bankruptcy etc.
In every case it’s bad decision after bad decision that brought them to this moment — usually deep down, it’s all based from the crippling fear of poverty.
Moral of the story, be smart, leverage debt but pay it back, study those who’ve already done it, have the right inputs (to name a few).
Don’t make decisions from a position of fear. Instead, let where you’re at drive you to figure it out from hard work and smart work. You, your family, your team, and your customers deserve it.
