Schubert’s devastatingly haunting’s Lied “Meeres Stille”. A perfect piece to fine-tune the dynamic range of my new #theremin setup. Nothing virtuosic here, just pure musical expression. Deeply emotional too, you can read my soul here… Trying to find some peace as the year comes to an end.
This Lied is based on a poem by Goethe:
Tiefe Stille herrscht im Wasser,
Ohne Regung ruht das Meer,
Und bekümmert sieht der Schiffer
Glatte Fläche rings umher.
Keine Luft von keiner Seite!
Todesstille fürchterlich!
In der ungeheueren Weite
Reget keine Welle sich.
