I took on the challenge of editing the entire series—removing breaks, enhancing the quality, stabilizing defects, and fine-tuning the colors to the best of my ability. Originally sourced from a VHS tape in pretty rough condition, I did my best to bring it back to life. Now, it exists as one continuous film.

New Testament Ministry of Christ – The Living Bible Series

This 26-part series of Bible teaching films beautifully portrays the life of Christ. Each episode runs between 15 to 20 minutes and was directed and narrated by Edward Dew. Dew, who came from a long line of ministers, originally studied for the ministry but found his passion in acting in 1936 at the age of 27. Known as "Eddie" Dew in Hollywood, he appeared in numerous uncredited film roles before starring in B-westerns and later directing various Christian film series. His notable works include The Living Bible series, 40 episodes of Sergeant Preston of the Yukon (1955–63), The Book of Acts (1957), and The Old Testament Scriptures (1958), among others.

The Visual Aid Center, once a major distributor of 16mm Christ-centered films to churches and religious groups across the nation, originally distributed this series. However, such regional film exchanges ceased production in the late 20th century. Below are descriptions of each episode as listed in one of the original Visual Aid Center catalogs:

Birth of John the Baptist (20 min) – An angel tells Zechariah that he and Elizabeth will have a son named John.

Birth of the Savior (15 min) – The angel Gabriel announces to Mary that she will bear Jesus.

Childhood of Jesus (15 min) – Mary and Joseph present Jesus at the temple; scribes inform Herod of the prophecy.

Ministry of John the Baptist (20 min) – Jesus is baptized; John declares Him "the Lamb of God" and is later imprisoned by Herod.

First Disciples (15 min) – John the Baptist identifies Jesus, and the first disciples follow Him.

Woman at the Well (15 min) – Jesus speaks with a Samaritan woman at Jacob's well about living water.

Before Abraham Was, I Am (20 min) – Jesus teaches in the temple during the Feast of Tabernacles.

Jesus and the Fishermen (15 min) – Peter, Andrew, James, and John follow Jesus and witness His miracles.

Thy Sins are Forgiven (15 min) – Friends lower a paralyzed man through a roof to reach Jesus.

Jesus, Lord of the Sabbath (15 min) – Three events affirm Jesus' authority over the Sabbath.

The Transfiguration (20 min) – Peter acknowledges Jesus as the Christ.

Jesus Heals the Man Born Blind (20 min) – Jesus gives sight to a man born blind.

I Am the Resurrection (20 min) – Jesus raises the widow's son, Jairus' daughter, and Lazarus.

Jesus and the Lepers (15 min) – Jesus heals a leper despite ritual laws.

Last Journey to Jerusalem (20 min) – Jesus predicts His death and resurrection.

Thirty Pieces of Silver (15 min) – Mary anoints Jesus' feet; Judas plots betrayal.

The Upper Room (15 min) – Jesus washes the disciples' feet after the Last Supper.

Betrayal in Gethsemane (15 min) – Jesus prays in the garden before being betrayed by Judas.

Jesus Before the High Priest (15 min) – Jesus is taken from Gethsemane to Caiaphas.

Trial Before Pilate (15 min) – Pilate finds no fault in Jesus but yields to the crowd.

The Crucifixion (20 min) – Jesus carries His cross to Golgotha.

Nicodemus (20 min) – Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea prepare Jesus' burial.

The Lord is Risen (15 min) – The resurrection events unfold.

The Lord's Ascension (15 min) – Jesus appears to disciples and ascends to heaven.

This series serves as a timeless visual retelling of the life and ministry of Christ, preserving a unique piece of Christian film history.
