First aid
Lean forward slightly to prevent blood from flowing into your throat.
Pinch both sides of your nose and press on the front of your septum for about five minutes.
Breathe through your mouth.
Spit out any blood.
Apply a cold compress to your forehead, nose, and neck.
When to seek medical attention
If you have significant health conditions or complications from blood loss
If the bleeding is severe or recurrent
If you experience complications or refractory bleeding
