Tribute to Dad: Reginald Langford, 1936 - 2013

Thanks to all who have given their love and support through this difficult time. Dad, we love you, we miss you and we will always remember you with the greatest sense of pride and joy. Rest in peace.

Reginald was born on November 2, 1936 in Weymouth Falls, Nova Scotia. He learned the meaning of hard work at an early age by getting a job weeding gardens before he was a teenager. He spent his years doing many odd jobs in Nova Scotia. At the age of 26 he married his wife Ivy and shortly after moved to Toronto when his brother got him a job upholstering furniture.
He was always easy going, had a kind heart and always tried to bring out the best in people. He always seemed to have a helping hand to whoever needed it. This was shown in the fact that he was always helping neighbours with shovelling their walkways and mowing their lawns, but the neighbours took notice that he kept the best looking front and back lawns on the block. Going back to his hard work ethic, in the summer time, if his kid's asked "where's daddy?" the answer would most like be, "he's cutting the lawn".
He had a way of telling people silly stories that would sometimes make them stop and think, could this possibly be real or true?" He loved country music and watching the old tv shows like Andy Griffith, Hee Haw, Good Times and Sanford and Son. Some of his other favourite pastimes were playing cards and watching boxing.
There are far too many fond memories and stories to recount from friends and family throughout the years. His family thinks it would be fitting to end this with one of his favourite sayings. "Good night, God bless and let the good Lord take a likin'to ya".
