This was a no-brainer, I already have an S705 which is in a previous video so I still had some spares left over.
The engine was sweet already, needed nothing other than a clean and only one small ball joint was missing from the rear anti roll bar. One part was damaged which I found for sale for £25 on eBay brand new. That means this car cost £75 complete. Bargain.
As you know if you have seen other videos, I don't drive the nitro cars, they're 'retired' and kept as shelf queens hence the channel name. This is mainly because the old fuel inside the nitro engines and fuel tanks gums up and can lock the engines solid if not used regularly. I've also seen heavy rust on engine components from long periods of no use.
I also wont risk damaging the rare cars due to the lack of spares. I once waited 30 years for a Kyosho LA32 front axle box to come up for sale to repair my Lazer ZXR.
Despite the state of the corrosion on the chassis, it is still strong and although not the prettiest, its not that noticeable once put back together. If you need to kill 25 minutes, this is worth watching to see what can be achieved by a simple strip, clean and rebuild.
