Lithium Battery Myth put to the test. Are EV batteries unsafe? How easy to EV batteries blow up?

Описание: How likely are electric car batteries to catch on fire? Are lithium batteries dangerous? Do lithium batteries explode or catch on fire when exposed to water?
Well let's find out. Many people belief that a lithium battery that comes in contact with water will explode or catch on fire. I went out and bought some lithium battery cells and put that myth to the test. Playing MythBusters is fun. I'm going to throw this lithium battery cell into water to see what happens. Will it explode right away? Will it explode later?
I belief that most people don't understand lithium batteries and just have seen videos of them blowing up and Big Oil topping off those video by adding their FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt, usually evoked intentionally in order to put a competitor at a disadvantage).
So I think this is going to pretty boring. But we'll see.
