Higgs - Contemporary App Music @Berlin Cathedral 6|6|2013

Описание: The idea of "Higgs" is to be an analogy to the particle accelerator experiment. One can hear undefinable sounds and melodies playing along in the same rhythm until they collide in a great chaos, a musical big bang. The system collapses, similar to the collapse of a wave function, and a new spectrum of sounds is born: the sound of nature and animals. The concept of this piece is to recreate a fast-forwarded process of cosmic evolution with music, using the cathedral as a particle accelerator. In the context of the Berlin Cathedral it was a pleasure to recreate the development of our world in an audible way.

Therefore, the DigiEnsemble Berlin used various Apps, such as SampleTank, Beatmaker2, iDensity (iOS) and an Ableton Live-Patch.

--Anniversary Concert at Berlin Cathedral on 6|6|2013
The DigiEnsemble's performance of Bach's Christmas Oratorio played on mobile devices only at the Berlin Cathedral in 2012 was a huge success. In celebration of the Berliner Dom's 20 year anniversary, the cathedral's organist Andreas Sieling and the DigiEnsemble paired up and gave their first concert together on June 6, 2013.

For the anniversary show, the musicians composed four pieces. Their intention was to experiment with the sound possibilities of the cathedral's interior architecture. They used 12 loudspeakers, placed all around the cathedral, and created new sounds as "frozen echoes" and "fluid music" (rainshower in the dom).
