Описание: Despite The Later Years containing no demos for A Momentary Lapse Of Reason whatsoever, there are quite a few around. An unfortunate missed opportunity, but regardless here is the most complete version currently available (the only exception being a fragment of the One Slip demo).

Notes:

This is a revised version from the one I shared previously (in 2008 on JAC and in May 2013 on Yeeshkul!). Tracks are either upgrades compared to previous versions, or new tracks (tracks 2, 11, 13, 14 and 15).

Tracks 1, 3, 5 and 6 come from a tape that David Gilmour brought to BBC Radio One studios on 28Jul92, for his interview by Nick Horne (promoting the "Shine On" box set). They are from a pre-FM source and sound slightly better than the versions on the previous release, but are still mono. For that reason, the current compilation also includes the versions of "Like A Rolling Stone" (track 2) and "Learning To Fly" (track 4) taken from the stereo FM broadcast ("The Dogs Of War" and "Signs Of Life" were on the tape but were not broadcast during the BBC show).

Notes:

This is the raw recording, exactly as recorded by me at the age of 13 on a Sharp radio-cassette machine on to whatever blank tape I could get hold of at the time. Transferred last year using a Denon DRM-740 and and Edirol R4.

For what it's worth, to my ears LtF is stereo and Like a Rolling Stone isn't. Admittedly I haven't studied them in detail.

Notes: "I thought, this week, that we would put up the original demo, written by Pat Leonard and myself, for what was to become ‘Yet Another Movie’ on the ‘A Momentary Lapse of Reason’ album. Pat Leonard and I met up at Astoria in September 1986 a couple of days after I had played on a Bryan Ferry track that he was producing. We had a glass or two of wine and jammed for hours. For some reason that I can no longer remember I had chosen the fretless bass as my instrument of the day. It turned into a beautiful song."
