Based on a short story by National Artist and acclaimed screenwriter Ricky Lee, "Nang Mapagod si Kamatayan" was announced as Daniel Padilla's first project this year with ABS-CBN Films, to be directed by Dan Villegas. This movie serves as a reunion project for him and director Dan Villegas, after they previously worked together in "She's Dating the Gangster" where Dan Villegas served as director of photography.
