Things that cause YouTube to promote your videos and go find subscribers and views for you based on viewers interests. In order of things you can control to the things you can’t control as of The October 2017 YouTube Algorithm based on my experience:

1. Thumbnail Quality.
How positively emotionally provoking it is, a human face helps, few words but big text is good.

2. Meta Data.
Title, Description, Key Words, Translations, Close Captioning, The upload title of your video and the words you actually say in the videos.

3. Upload Frequency.
Uploading every single day is a must and is the main thing that I did to grow my channel. I even posted up to 20 times in a day. Now in my opinion for every 2 videos you create, edit, watch then post you should get 1 subscriber until you get to about 1000 videos then things accelerate. Most of the famous YouTubers I know have well over 1000 videos. Now if you somehow create a Hero Video which in my opinion is a video that is highly produced with a marketing budget that costs time and/or money that gets high watch time, causes your audience to share and add to other playlists. This causes the algorithm to promote it to more people. Another thing I gauge is that for every 100 views I get I should get about 10 subscribers. Over half of my subscribers came from 2 videos out of the about 200 I have done. Look back over the videos that did well and at least once a week make a video similar to that. Now you I recommend you do things in batches. Record 7 videos. Edit those same 7 videos. Watch those 7 videos for errors. Then upload on the private setting those 7 videos and schedule them to go out over the next 7 days. This saves large amounts of time.

4. Going Live
The YouTubers I see that Live broadcast seem to experience
M A J O R
growth. I don’t do that however because if you make a mistake you can’t edit it and its potentially online forever. Many careers have declined or ended because of errors on a Live Video.

5. Audience Engagement (Interaction)
When you have your comments open so that people can leave comments. When they like or dislike. Now I made a mistake here and didn’t have comments available in the past but I changed them to moderated. This allows them to be posted an I can remove inappropriate ones.

6. Overall Channel Watch Time
How much time people have spent watching your channel since it began.

7. Particular Video Watch VelocityHow many people viewed and watched your video and how long they watched it in the first 7hrs, 24hrs and 48hrs. (Only about 10% of your subscribers who don’t have your notifications turned on are notified when you post a new video)

8. Particular Video Watch Time
How much time on average are people spending on that particular video.

9. Session Starts
How often do people come to YouTube to watch your video first! This is why you need friends and family to watch your videos and share your videos. This is also why you should share on your social media. Now Facebook Groups are great as well as Chat rooms. Your content must be related to what that group or room is about or you are wasting your time and they will most likely block you anyways.

10. Session Duration
After someone watches your video how long they stay on YouTube watching other videos. If someone leaves YouTube after watching your video your channel loses points but for all the additional watch time someone spends after seeing your video you get more points even if its not your video!!!
