Camille Saint-Saëns's "The Swan" is a lyrical piece from his instrumental suite: The Carnival of the Animals.
Originally written for cello and piano, here the mandolin and guitar illustrate the beauty of the swan and nature. The fluidity of the guitar's arpeggios allows the mandolin's song to be both meditative and dramatic.
This piece was recorded in the south of France, on a beach in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.
