In this kickoff to our Thanksgiving series, Pastor Burton Hughes shows how gratitude grows when we partner with the Holy Spirit and put our God-given gifts to work. Pastor Burton opens with the feeding of the 5,000 to challenge our tendency to cling to “what’s mine,” and then walks through Paul’s thanksgiving in 1 Corinthians 1:4-9 to highlight three anchors for this season: thank God for the gifts in others, acknowledge how those gifts build the church, and remember we’ve been invited into partnership with Jesus. He ties it together with the Parable of the Talents—reminding us the power is in the gift God placed in us, not in our effort—and gives a simple next step: examine, evaluate, and experiment with your gift so you don’t stop short of what heaven planned.
