In this update of our $1,000 house project, we finally tackle the most essential utility: water. We drill an Abyssinian well near an old village well and fight through a buried concrete slab to lay 50 meters of pipes.

But the biggest surprise came indoors. What started as a small repair turned into a total floor demolition. We ripped out the 50-year-old wooden floors down to the bare earth. Plus, my father-in-law creates custom insulated attic doors to keep the house warm.

Step by step, we are turning this ruin into a home

Our goal is to turn this abandoned ruin into a comfortable, self-sufficient home. Thank you for following the "Build Our Countryside" restoration project.
