In 2020 we saw a massive rise in Defi and the total value locked on Ethereum keeps adding up. Sadly the Ethereum gas fees keep rising as well, making Defi a lot less accissble for small investors. Thankfully we have some blockchains lining up that are faster and have lower fees . But because Polkadot and Cardano are not ready to go yet, we see a surge in other blockchains. One of them is the Binance Smart Chain.

So if you are wondering why the BNB token was mooning: defi just hit the Binance Smart Chain with the launch of Pancakeswap and other Ethereum project clones. As you can expect: Pancakeswap is inspired by Uniswap and is therefore a dex (decentralised exchange). This was a very important step as a solid dex opens up a blockchain for bootstrapped projects to launch into the market and opens the door for Defi mania.

Because we all like to work the way we are used to, I'm showing you how to set yourself up for the Binance Smart Chain with the MetaMask wallet and tell you where to start in order to find your next Defi gem.
