Here is my review of my stop at Chocolateria San Gines in Madrid, Spain. There are gold standards which represent the best examples of foods around the world and to me, this is the gold standard for churros, porras and hot chocolate and what other establishments should be compared.
Chocolateria San Gines is located at Pasadizo de San Ginés, 5, Centro, 28013 Madrid, Spain. On the internet it is says it is open 24 hours but I don't think that is case. I believe it is open at 8 am most days and I would go early (like 8 am) when there is no lineups.
Porras are thicker and more spongy than churros but both are made of fried dough.
