Effective Altruism Sydney: What's the most effective way to change government policy?

Description: Government policies affect everything from individual choices to international trade relationships. Whatever your political views may be, collectively we can agree that policy improvement is a worthwhile goal. But can pursuing policy change be an effective way of improving the world? In October, EA Sydney is pleased to present a panel discussion to answer the question, 'What is the most efficient way to change government policy?'.

Our panelists include representatives from think tanks, political parties, and the public service. Satya Marar is the Director of Policy for the Australian Taxpayers' Alliance, Andrea Leong is the Science Party's policy officer and candidate for Wentworth, and EA Sydney community member James Harrison works on the operational side of government with NSW Health. Chairing the panel will be political consultant and EA Sydney community member Austen Erickson.
