The 2025 Robert N. Bellah Lecture on Religion and Public Life was a jubilant occasion for the GTU community and all who joined us. We were deeply honored to welcome the Rt. Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, whose lecture offered bold and timely insights into spiritual leadership and individual accountability in today’s complex world. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, Grace Cathedral, the UC Berkeley Center for the Study of Religion and the Henry Luce Foundation, the family of Robert N.
