The Office of the Public Protector and the Human Rights Commission have briefed COGTA MPs on their recommendations into Alexandra's service delivery problems. These include the lack of residents' right to dignity for years. The joint report into the 2019 Alex Total Shutdown protests was released early July. They also probed alleged maladministration in the multi-million rand Alex Renewal Project.
