Adamson Mushala is one of the most controversial figures in Zambia’s post-independence history. Once a freedom fighter, he later turned into a rebel leader, leading an armed insurgency in the 1970s and 80s against Kenneth Kaunda’s government. To some, Mushala was a criminal. To others, he was a resistance fighter who stood against a one-party state.
