Such a great little guitar!!! I sanded down the saddle last night, and fixed a tiny separation on the back while I had the strings off. This morning, with the glue nice and dry, I unwrapped the ace bandages I used to clamp the wood in place, reset the saddle, and strung the little girl back up to pitch. Such a happy, powerful guitar. Made of solid mahogany and spruce , with rosewood fingerboard and trim, and real abalone markers. Made in Japan some 51 years ago, for the Japan folk market, inspired by the Martin 0018. They did it right on this one. Huge sound in a tiny box. I found this one on Shopgoodwilll, for $225, with the factory hard case. Lots of happiness for $225.
The song is "Drifting In The Corners", just an instrumental at this point, catching some of the grace and excitement of my dirt bike career, back at the same time this guitar was made. There might be words for this tune eventually, but for now, this tune just lets the Yamaki go full throttle.
