A Tillana or thillana is a rhythmic piece in South Indian Carnatic music that is generally performed at the end of a concert and widely used in classical indian dance performances. It was popularised by Dr. M Balamuralikrishna, Lalgudi Jayaraman and some other musicians[1][2][3] A Tillana uses tala-like phrases in the pallavi and anupallavi, and lyrics in the charanam.
Tara Shastri" is an Indian Classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam. She has completed her Visharad, Nipun, Bachelors of Music, Masters of Music (Gold Medalist) from Bhatkhande University, Lucknow, Asia's biggest university for classical music and dances. In these 12 years of her education in dance she also developed her own style comparising of different indian and western dance forms. While studing dance she continued her professional career as a choreographer for national programmes for Doordarshan and various other shows and also continued teaching dance, of which she has an experience of more than 25 years now with more than 7000 pupils already being trained under her guidance and numerous winning in dance shows like Sony's Boogie Woogie to name a few. She herself has done more than 200 shows all over india , won more than 150 dance competitions and judged around 70 odd dance competitions across India like IIT Kharagpur,IIT Delhi,
IIT Kanpur , Jims College Delhi & Neemrana, hindu college etc.
