A high-school student, forced to transfer schools after being falsely accused of a crime, discovers a mysterious app that takes him into the Metaverse — a world shaped by distorted human desires. There, he awakens his power as a Persona-user.

He forms a group called the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, made up of classmates and new allies who have also been hurt by unfair adults. Together, they infiltrate “Palaces” in the Metaverse to change the hearts of corrupt people in the real world.

While living a double life as a student by day and a vigilante by night, the protagonist builds friendships, learns about his teammates’ struggles, and uncovers a deeper, hidden threat that affects all of society.

Persona 5 Royal expands the original story with new characters, new Confidants, new areas, and an additional semester, offering more character development and a deeper look into themes of freedom, rebellion, and taking control of your own destiny.
