"Blue Star" is a popular song. It was originally written by Victor Young as the theme for the 1950s American medical drama series Medic (starring Richard Boone).
The song was not an original composition for the band. However, The British Shadows band stripped all that away and let Hank Marvin’s lead guitar "perform" the melody. Their Instrumental version was recorded by Columbia Records in 1961.
