On 21 January 2022, Clara Barbier Serrano, the inaugural recipient of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation-Community Jameel scholarship at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London, joined Maestro Andrea Bocelli, Serena Gamberoni and Christine Allado to perform 'Con te partirò' at the Maraya theatre in AlUla, Saudi Arabia.
'Con te partirò' ('With you I shall depart'), written by Francesco Sartori (music) and Lucio Quarantotto (lyrics), was first released as a single by Maestro Bocelli on 21 February 1995 and hit the top in the charts in both France and Belgium.
The Bocelli-Jameel scholarship at the RCM was established in 2019 by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and Community Jameel to support full-time students at the RCM's opera studio. Scholars are selected by the RCM on the basis of excellence and financial need.
