this is a stock GBS8200
a stock Atari STe with 4MB RAM
what I did was to follow atari forum composite sync generator and feed that into the grey wire of the GBS8200.
I took negative from the power input.
I fed Atari RGB to RGB of 8200.
I seem to have a problem with blue connection from my makeshift Atari 13 pin monitor output - a new 13 pin to 13 pin male to male is on Order - it will be cut in half to allow two monitor cables to be made.
with this mod the GBS works.
It changes the frequency of the 15kHz to match modern VGA monitors.
my Eizo could sort of cope with 15kHz (just an annoying icon telling me it can't cope - but it displayed nevertheless).
now it just works.
as does my Iiyama touchscreen that refused to work before.
to be honest I haven't tested the high res yet. but that already works with modern monitors.
will see if I can fit this into my joystick/mouse/monitor switcher box.
and if this all works I will try it on my STFM - who is waiting for Exxos 4MB kit, replacement keyboard..exciting Atari times for me.
