Born in Saint Lucia, he moved to the United States to pursue his education and career, becoming a vibrant member of his community and actively participating in his local church and social justice efforts.On September 6, 2018, Botham Jean was tragically k*lled in his apartment in Dallas, Texas, by Amber Guyger, an off-duty police officer. -Guyger mistakenly entered Jean's apartment, believing it was her own, and fatally shot him, thinking he was an intruder.-This incident led to widespread outrage and highlighted significant issues regarding police conduct and racial injustice in America. -Following the shooting, Guyger was initially charged with manslaughter, but the charge was later upgraded to murder.
