Description of the exercise :
In this fourth exercise, the introduction of the bass drum playing a 3 against 4 polyrhythm fundamentally changes the perception of what the right hand is playing on the ride cymbal. The addition of the bass drum makes each of the four beats unique and different, as all twelve pulses are now needed for the compound rhythm to repeat. This gives each cycle of the rhythm played on the ride cymbal a different context and an overall different feel. Good luck; this exercise is more challenging to master!
