This is Paradise! Samal Island, Philippines

Описание: Our first week of vacation in the Philippines was definitely one to remember! We started in Cebu City, then spent a few exciting days on the gorgeous island of Siargao. But it was the natural, tranquil beauty of Samal Island that completely mesmerized us. Samal is a part of the Metropolitan Davao area and is two kilometers off the coast of Davao City, which is located in the southern region of the Philippines known as Mindanao. Samal is officially known as the Island Garden City of Samal, and trust me when I say the city has earned its name. Samal is the only city in the country that encompasses two entire islands, hence its name the Island Garden City. While pristine beaches dot the island's shores, lush hills dominate the middle portions of the island.

Along with our friends, Adam, Lhea, and Jung, we found our way to the eastern side of the island, an area known as Tagbaobo. The water was typical for the Philippines: clear and comfortable! The surface was very calm, and looking across to the east you could see the mainland province of Davao Oriental. The green hills above the beach were full of coconut palm trees, which contrasted dramatically with the crystal blue ocean water. When I put the camera on my phone underwater, a small ecosystem of coral, tropical fish, and other marine life intrigued us. It didn’t seem real that such an amazing sight was so easily accessible just a few meters from the shore. We spent our time there enjoying the water and scenery up until the sun began to sink into dusk. This paradise definitely left a lasting impression on all of us, and we promised to return the next time we visited the Philippines.
