Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a water purification process that uses pressure to force water through a semi-permeable membrane, removing dissolved salts, impurities, microorganisms, and contaminants. In this process, pressure greater than the osmotic pressure is applied to reverse the natural flow of water, allowing only pure water molecules to pass through while rejecting dissolved solids. Reverse osmosis is widely used in drinking water treatment, desalination, wastewater treatment, and industrial processes.
