In this video, I listen to The Omnific for the first time (featuring bassists Toby Peterson-Stewart and Matt Fack) and talk about their perfect blend of modern bass tones, the catchy dual melodies, their usage of great voice leading, and the slow-burn composition that builds toward a massive breakdown after Clay rips it up! I break down a few of their techniques, Clay’s hybrid pop-picking technique, and more. I want to shout from the rooftops even more about HOW full-range the bass guitar can be, as seen here.
