A 24-year-old female intern doctor from Kerala, attached to Goa Medical College (GMC), was found dead at Hawaii Beach in Dona Paula on Wednesday night, triggering an investigation by Panaji Police.

The deceased has been identified as Gauri Narayan, a resident of Calicut, Kerala. Her body was shifted to GMC for medico-legal formalities and detailed examination.

Police have registered an Unnatural Death (UD) case and initiated a probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident. During a spot inspection, officials reportedly recovered a syringe along with vials containing propofol and a muscle relaxant.

Preliminary observations indicate no visible external injuries on the body. However, authorities have stated that the exact cause of death will be determined only after the postmortem report.
