Sylhet, located in northeastern Bangladesh, has a tropical monsoon climate with a rainy season from April to October and a dry season from November to February. Land Topography: Predominantly rich, fertile, and flat land, with most areas less than 12 meters above sea level.
Highest Point: Saka Haphong, located near the Myanmar border, with an elevation of 1,064 meters.
Forest Cover: Approximately 14% of the total land area, with a decline from 1990 to 2020.

Bangladesh is home to diverse ecosystems, including the Sundarbans mangrove forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The country boasts a rich biodiversity, with over 6000 plant species and numerous wildlife sanctuaries. However, rapid urbanisation and environmental issues pose threats to its natural habitats.
