The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLB is a completely new generation of the premium compact SUV, evolving the model from its earlier design into a more modern, tech-rich, and electrified family SUV. It debuts in early 2026 with a strong focus on electric power while still offering mild-hybrid petrol versions later in the year.

🔌 Electric-First Architecture

New MMA Platform: Built on Mercedes’ Modular Architecture (MMA) — the same foundation used for the latest electric CLA and other future BEVs. This allows for a more integrated electric system, greater efficiency, and faster charging.

800-Volt Electrical System: Enables high-speed DC charging up to ~320 kW, adding up to ~260 km of range in about 10 minutes under optimal conditions.

Battery & Range (Electric):

85 kWh battery pack with a WLTP range up to ~631 km on the GLB 250+ 2WD.

GLB 350 4MATIC EQ dual-motor version produces significantly more power with a slightly reduced range (still ~ 600 km WLTP).

These electric variants launch first, with plug-in and mild hybrid petrol versions arriving later in 2026.
