Quanyin Hu and Peixin Liu from the UW-Madison Department of Pharmacy have developed McR-TACs, a new class of protein degrader that targets disease-related proteins on and outside cells. These degraders are recycled by cells after breaking down target proteins, meaning fewer doses may be needed to maintain treatment effects. Tested in cancer cell models, this approach could improve immunotherapy treatments by making them more durable and effective.
